The Yoder Book of North Carolina
Dr. Fred Roy Yoder’s History of the Yoder Family in North Carolina and the continuing update project — the descendants of Conrad Yoder.
The foundational genealogy of the North Carolina Yoders is Dr. Fred Roy Yoder's History of the Yoder Family in North Carolina (© 1970), tracing the descendants of Conrad Yoder — the immigrant who settled near Hickory, in what became Lincoln (later Catawba) County, North Carolina, about 1755, and died there in 1790.
Dr. Fred's original work concentrated on two of Conrad's sons, John and David, who remained in North Carolina. Since 1983 the Yoder Newsletter has helped recover the “lost history” of the other children — daughter Catherine (who married John Baker); sons Daniel, Elias and Jacob, who moved to Indiana; and son Adam — gathered here as a continuing update project. Dr. Fred's children, who hold the copyright, have sponsored the effort, carried on by Bill Yoder and Neal Wilfong of the “Yoders of North Carolina” with Chris Yoder of the Yoder Newsletter.
These pages are working transcriptions and update files, preserving original spelling, notation and the compilers' notes. Generation numbers appear in parentheses, e.g. John Yoder (2).
