as originating with the Yoder family of the Oley valley, Berks
Co, Pa.

This Samuel Yetter crossed pathes with some Oley Valley Yoders
and is

presented for informational purposes. His origins are not known
at this point.

1. Samuel YETTER1was born Abt 1756. He died 8 Apr 1830. He
was

buried in Union, Catawissa, Columbia Co., Pennsylvania.

BIRTH: Estimated based upon age at death.

from Philadephia

Historical Society 8/20/95 Pg 276, starts January 1780. several
items dated

Feb-April then numerous Feb entries leading to suspect these were
performed by a

Circuit Minister. Record follows: Feb. 12, By Lisence dated February
12th, 1780 Samuel

Yetter of Pottsgrove and Mary Elizabeth Yocum of Gross Town in
the county of Phil.

DEATH: WILL PROBATED 8 APR 1830. Samuel died intestate. See
copies

of Orphans Court Records. Baptism records of children list name
as Jetter. According to

David Klees samuel was 74 at his death.

CHURCH: Communicant 19 Apr 1801 St. John's Union Church records
as Samuel and

Maria Jedder. ; 29 Mar 1812 lists Samuel Yedder and Samuel Yedder
Jr.; Listed as a

Yetter, minor children of Hannah Yetter died, The petition of
Samuel Benjamin of

Catawissa Township ; in the said County was inttercede to the
Court humbly **** that

Harriett Jemima & Susan children of your petitioner and Hannah
his wife late Hannah

Yetter now died are minors under the age of fourteen years and
have no guardian to

take care of their estate your petitioner therefore prays your
honors to appoint a suitable

Return of the amiable writ of Partition of the Estate of Samuel
Yetter deceased of

Catawissa Township We the person appointed in the within writ
of partition, to divide

or appraise the land of which Samuel Yetter the elder, lately
died seized, situate in the

township of Cattawissa as within mentioned Do Report that we attended
in (or on) the

premises, as directed in the said ; writ, and then (appraise)
in the presence of the heirs

and their agents, who were **** in ***** of noted given being
severally sworn or

affirmed according to **** We did divide the said land of Samuel
Yetter dec'd into

eight equal parts of equal value {to the best of our knowledge
and judgement} according

to a plot or draft which is hereunto annexed The lot or part numbered,
No 1 contains ten

acres, two perches and allowances the Mansion house and buildings
being thereon

erected No 2 contains thirty three acres sixty perches & allowance
No 3 contains thirty

three acres, eighty six perches and allowance No 4 contains thirty
seven acres, seventy

one perches & allowances No 5 contains thirty two acres one
hundred perches and

allowance No 6 contains thirty four acres, thirty seven perches
& allowance No 7

contains thirty one acres, eighty eight perches & allowance
and No 8 contains thirty six

acres, seventeen perches and allowance And further that their
is nine heirs and we have

divided The said land into only eight shares We therefore have
appraised the said land

at three hundred and seventy five dollars for each and every lot
making the whole tract

worth three thousand dollars; We consequently direct each heir
who shall except a part

or share as aforesaid, to pay to the one heir who shall get no
such part the sum of forty

one dollars and sixty six & 2/3 cents, making in the aggregate
the sum of $333.331/3 for

the heir getting no land to be paid in such manner as the law
directs

In the name of God Amen, I, Daniel Yetter, Farmer of Franklin
Township

being weak in body but sound in mind and memory Do make and declare
this to be my

will and testament in manner following that is to say I order
that all my just debts

funeral expenses and charges of proving this my will be in the
first place be fully paid

and satisfied and after payment thereof and every part thereof
I give and bequeath to my

beloved wife Sarah Yetter the farm on which I now reside together
with all such

personal, or household goods as she may deem necessary for use
to have and to hold and

fully have control of the same as long as she remain my widow,
and provided she should

get remarried before her decease, I then direct my Executor immediately
to sell said

farm and personal property to her so bequeathed and divide the
proceeds of the same

among my heirs in manner hereafter mentioned, and provided she
shall remain my

widow during her lifetime I then direct my Executor immediately
after her death to sell

the real and personal to her so bequeathed and divide the proceeds
of the same in

manner hereafter directed amongst my children or their heirs,
I direct that any or all of

my personal property remaining after my widow has selected hers
aforementioned to be

sold and the proceeds applied to the payment of my debts and the
balance if any to be

divided amongst my son and daughters or their heirs in manner
hereafter mentioned, I

further direct that my Executor shall by public or private sale
sell the farm owned by me

upon which my son Samuel now lives also a tract of land in the
state of Iowa being one

hundred and sixty acres as soon as can conveniently be done and
the proceeds of the

same after payment of all my just debts and expenses to be divided
amongst my

son and daughters or their heirs together with any and all the
proceeds of my estate not

otherwise bequeathed in manner as follows, I direct that my son
Samuel Yetter shall

receive two hundred dollars of my estate more than either of the
rest of my children or

their heirs that is to say an equal share with each of the rest
of my children and two

hundred dollars more I direct to my daughter Eliza intermarried
with John Rider shall

receive as her full share of my estate the one seventh part of
my estate, less two hundred

dollars as forementioned to be paid my son Samuel, I direct that
my daughter Mary Ann

??? married with Matthias Gingles shall have as her full share
of my estate the same

amount as my daughter Eliza, I direct that my daughter Hannah
shall have as her full

share of my estate the same amount as my daughter MaryAnn, I direct
that my daughter

Amanda intermarried with John Lawrence to have as her full share
of my estate the

same amount as my daughter Hannah She is to have during her lifetime
and at her death

the same to pass to her heirs and provided she should die without
leaving any heirs then

at her death her share shall be equally divided between her brother
and sister or their

heirs, I direct that my daughter Catharine intermarried with William
Stoker shall have

as her full share of my estate the same amount as my daughter
Amanda, I direct that my

2 Grandsons Daniel + Thomas Fincher sons of my daughter Susan,
deceased shall have

as their full share of my estate their mothers share of my estate
which amounts shall be

the same as my daughter Amanda and I authorize my executor to
retain said share until

the said Daniel and Thomas Fincher shall attain the age of twenty
one years, the interest

accrueing on said share to be equally divided between the rest
of my children or their

heirs and provided the said Daniel + Thomas Fincher should die
before the age of

twenty one then I direct that their shares be equally divided
between my son and

daughters or their heirs and I duly hereby nominate, constitute
and appoint my son

Samuel Yetter and William ??? Executors of this my last will and
testament and I

hereby empower my executors or either of them to deed or transfer
any or all of my real

estate with the same power as though I was living and done it
myself, In witness

whereof I the same testator have set my hand and seal the fifteenth
day of May A.D.
